As children, we loved gathering close to Grandpa, captivated by the stories he told. Those stories shaped us—teaching us who we belong to, filling us with confidence, certainty, and hope. We learned a profound truth: you are not alone.

A Love That Endures

It’s an incredible realization to know you’re not alone—to know you belong to a God who loves you with an everlasting love. Let that sink in.

You belong to a God who left heaven and gave up everything because He didn’t want eternity without you in it. You belong to a God so deeply interested in you that He has prepared a home just for you in His kingdom. That’s what Grandpa’s stories were about! The story of creation, the story of redemption, the story of salvation—the great story of God’s love.

Grandpa lived his life centered in Christ and in the promise of His soon return. He longed and hoped it would come in his lifetime. When a ruthless stroke finally stilled his voice and broke his body, he lay unable to move—yet the one arm left intact pointed heavenward through those final two weeks, until he fell asleep in Christ.

It has now been more than fifty years since my heart was first set on heaven, and today you and I are living in momentous times. Home is nearer than ever. I can almost hear the footsteps of the approaching King.
